About Us

In 2007, veteran offensive lineman Tutan Reyes founded Beyond the Boroughs, committed to bringing bright futures to young men and women through a scholarship fund that rewards students with a college acceptance letter but unmet financial need.

The mission of Beyond the Boroughs is to get into college those students with demonstrated academic achievement, yet struggle with the profound financial costs of higher education. The Beyond the Boroughs scholarship awards up to $20,000 over four years to deserving students.

The secondary goal of Beyond the Boroughs is to engage all people in the act of philanthropy to create a college scholarship fund large enough to inspire young people to work hard in school, feel supported, and strive for excellence.

As a public charity with 501c3 status from the IRS, Beyond the Boroughs raises money and disseminates as many scholarships as possible each year.
